Bio

Introduction

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

My last name is pronounced O-mel-E-an-chuck.  Before we meet many years ago, my husband thought no one would ever want to marry him due to his crazy last name.

I like watching sports, reading when I have time and watching tv/movies when I'm not running around with my seven year old son.  I love Mexican food, the dollar section at Target, corny jokes, and coffee. Everyone in this area has their favorite Mexican restaurant.  Casa Mexicana is mine.  The others just don’t compare. ;-) Have you tried their salsa? It’s the best. Lol.

Education

I attended the University of Memphis and majored in psychology.  I love the Tigers and hope to see a Final Four appearance in the next few years for the basketball team!

Experience

This is my fourth year teaching science at DCMS, but I have been at the school for over twelve years. In the past, I taught U.S. History, which I loved, but most of my time at DCMS was spent in the special education department as a teacher and a behavior technician.  I worked at several schools when I was a behavior tech, but I knew that I wanted to be a part of the DCMS team after I became a certified teacher in 2009.  I'm proud to be a Jaguar, and I try to promote that pride within the school.

Other info:

The best way to contact me is at the contact link above. The number for DCMS is 662-349-6660. You can leave a message and I will return the call at my earliest convenience (within 24 hours).  My email address is erin.omeliantschuk@dcsms.org

When I contact you, I will use a system called SchoolStatus. The calls or texts will not come from my personal phone number. It is a system that we use to document calls and messages. I have been told that the number may be from Brandon, MS, so that might be what city is displayed along with the phone number. If you get a call from that area, more than likely it is from our school.

I will also be utilizing a Remind 101 account to send home information about assessments and so forth. Please sign up and encourage your child to sign up as well. Text @science-08 to 81010. 81010 goes in the area where you put the phone number, @science-08 goes in the message box.
